Small park with campground and two trails. Both trails are in need of repairs and one camping area has been shut down, not much to do here..
We camped here Labor Day 2014. The lake is great, the campground itself is all pine trees, no grass, and no privacy between campsites. There isn't much to do besides boat on the lake, as nearby town of McCormick is sort of a sleepy town with a few restaurants and shops. There are a few really nice semi-private golf courses within minutes of the campground, and we played Monticello (Tara is the sister golf course) and it was quite nice. Bathrooms at the campground are clean but outdated and run down. Roads are dirt, making the campground a bit dusty. Many campsites are right on the lake and they are nice but small. Overall, I would rate it as "okay" and doubt I'd return, because it's simply out in the middle of nowhere.
Been camping here for over 20 years memory's I will never forget
Best family park we've been to been going for 35 yrs.
Fantastic canoeing opportunity and nice pavilion for a gathering.
